Moscow authorities to test blockchain in Active Citizen Project
Moscow authorities are ready to put blockchain into practice by implementing it in Active Citizen Project.
It was announced by the deputy chief of Moscow information technology department Andrey Belozerov.
According to him, Moscow is ready to test block chain technology to see it in action.
The service of electronic referendums “Active Citizen” ideally fits for these purposes taking into account the accusations of driving up the votes, explained Belozerov. Each vote is required to be confirmed by electronic signature and to be added to blockchain, the official noted. It is expected that trusted organizations will act as blockchain nodes.
Active Citizen is a service that provides a possibility for making collective resolutions on municipal issues, created in 2014. Currently, over 1 300 000 people use this platform. More than 1.5 thousands of votings were conducted via this service.
